Evoluce Win&I brings Kinect gesture controls to Windows 7

We've been looking at some pretty cool Kinect and Windows interactions for a while now, but we were hoping that the release of an official SDK would lead to even more coolness. Evoluce has stepped up, and is now offering Win&I -- a full-featured gesture control system for Windows 7.

The company claims that a range of up to four meters is supported, which should be perfect for just about any home theater setting. In the video embedded after the break, you can see an Evoluce demonstrator flip through a photo album, pan through a map, rearrange application windows, browse the Web, and control media playback. Two versions of Win&I are offered -- the home version goes for about 20 Euros, the business version for 40.

Anyone else having fun pretending his stance is a little "Iron Man"? We're tempted to put a repulsor on that hand.

Sony Xperia P and Xperia U due in the UK late April

In another busy day at MWC, the latest additions to the Sony Xperia line got some UK release information. Clove Technology have been busy securing the devices, and have published their pricing and release schedule for both the Xperia P and Xperia U in SIM free form. 

Both devices are slated to land at the retailer on April 23. The Xperia P will set you back £378 inc VAT and the Xperia U a very reasonable £238.80. At this time they only have the black versions available to pre-order, but hope to add other colours in the future. Both devices join the Xperia S which is due to launch with Clove soon, meaning that they will be offering the entire Xperia NXT range,

Samsung Galaxy Ace II hands-on

The Samsung Galaxy Ace line has proven to be a solid piece of mid-level fare outside the United States, and the follow-up -- the aptly named Samsung Galaxy Ace II looks to conitnue in that vein. There's no mistaking that you're not handling a phone from Samsung's top shelf. Whereare the Galaxy S II and Google's Samsung Galaxy Nexus scream sex appeal, the Galaxy Ace II is decidedly middle class. And that's not a bad thing.

The 3.7-inch WVGA display is competent enough, and the 800 MHz processor pushes the Android 2.3 build along quite smoothly. The UI is sparse. Actually, it's boring. But, again, we're talking bread and butter, not steak tartar. It's loaded with Samsung's suite of apps, and it's got GLONASS for GPS, if you're into that sort of thing.

Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) with 3G radios hits the FCC, gets Uncle Sam's stamp of approval

Just a couple days ago, Samsung revealed the encore to the Galaxy Tab 10.1, the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), showcasing the company's incredible ability to iterate slates using decidedly uncreative names. Today, a fresh bit of hardware looking suspiciously like that new Sammy slate made its way through the FCC's gauntlet of tests. This fresh bit of kit comes sporting AT&T-friendly WCDMA/HSPA 850/1900 and GSM 850/1900 radios, 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth and a GT-N8000 model number. Who knows if this ten-inch tab is destined for our shores or if it's the UK model masquerading as such, but only time will tell. Want to know more?
